The following statement is issued in accordance
with section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. It covers
the general policy of the company on this subject.
Statement of
Policy
The Southern & Redfern policy is to provide and maintain
safe and healthy conditions, equipment and systems of work for
all our employee’s, and to provide such information, training
and supervision as they need for this purpose. We also accept our
responsibility for the health and safety of other people who may
be affected by our activities.
The allocation of duties for safety
matters and the particular arrangements which we make to implement
the policy are taken by competent and responsible staff. It is
the company’s view that accidents are not inevitable and
that with reasonable precautions and a positive approach by all
concerned, most accidents can be prevented.
The policy is kept up
to date, particularly as the business changes in nature and size,
with the Company Safety Officer being responsible for the implementation
of the Company Safety Policy.
